The President-Elect's primary responsibilities focus on preparing for his/her year as Association President. As such, s/he oversees and is directly involved in Association strategic planning, and By-Laws management. S/he serves as a member of the Finance Committee.

Nonprofit treasurers play a key role in shaping the financial strategy that supports the organization's mission and vision. They are charged with developing a financial plan that suits the organization's short-term objectives and long-term goals.

The Role of the Historian

In a non-profit organization, the historian's responsibilities typically involve collecting, preserving, and sharing the organization's history through research, archiving, and public engagement, ensuring the organization's legacy is documented and accessible.

The Role of the Parliamentarian

In a non-profit organization, a parliamentarian's primary responsibility is to advise on parliamentary procedure, ensuring meetings and conventions run smoothly and fairly, and to assist the chair in conducting meetings according to the organization's bylaws and Robert's Rules of Order. The parliamentarian's role during a meeting is strictly advisory since, by parliamentary law, only the chair has the authority to rule on questions of order or to answer parliamentary inquiries.

While the president usually presides as chair of all meetings of the executive board or the membership, the parliamentarian serves to provide support to whoever is chairing the meeting.

In nonprofit organizations, members at large often focus on community engagement, fundraising, and advocacy, leveraging their extensive networks to promote the organization's mission and secure resources.
